Bryan ISD Met Standard for 2014-2015 Academics

Results from the Texas Education Agency (TEA) for the 2014-2015 school year indicate that Bryan ISD met standard as a district in all four indexes. The district achieved 28 distinctions, with Bryan Collegiate High School and Johnson Elementary earning every distinction possible.

TEA’s four index ratings measure:

1) Student achievement. 2) Student progress. 3) Closing performance gaps. 4) Post-secondary readiness. Elementary and middle schools are in their second year of accountability for Index 4.

Across the district, 20 schools received met standard ratings for state accountability, including all secondary campuses.

Fannin Elementary and Jones Elementary narrowly missed Index 4 (post-secondary readiness) and will be rated “improvement required,” as will Milam Elementary.

As part of a continuous improvement process, campuses across Bryan ISD are actively studying data and making adjustments aimed at student success.

2014-2015 Campus Distinctions (note: the TEA did not release ratings or distinctions for elementary math in 2014-2015) Distinctions are awarded based on a comparison group of 40 closely matching schools throughout Texas and are based on excellence in these categories:
