Thirty years ago, my very first desk at Johnson Elementary was in Mrs. Bestor’s kindergarten classroom. Fast forward a few years and my desk evolved into that of a 4th grade Johnson Jaguar writing teacher. Several hundred writing students later, my desk was on the move again taking me into an administrative position as Johnson’s Assistant Principal. Today, the desk I am sitting behind has been graciously warmed by award winning Johnson Elementary Principals and I am beyond excited to welcome you from it to my alma mater. Our school is an open concept environment that is simultaneously rich and layered where we celebrate the community itself in everything we do, and capture the hearts of those who step inside.
Strong parental involvement, translating high expectation into accomplishments, and acknowledging student successes throughout the school all serve as the foundation for our National Blue Ribbon title.
The successful system of Johnson Elementary works with the help of individuals that comprise the school - teachers, parents, community members, Bryan ISD School Board, central office administration and most importantly, our students.
