Johnson Elementary School kindergarten teacher Morgan Pierce was selected as Candy 95's Teacher of the Month for December! Ms. Pierce and her kindergarten class had a special surprise today as Ted from the Morning Candy show stopped by with the exciting news and some gifts to share.

The shock on Ms. Pierce's face and the excitement from her students really said it all as the students jumped up in celebration for their teacher.

"[S]he's more than a teacher. She becomes a friend," Ms. Baker wrote in her nomination. "She is one of the first to really introduce the endless opportunities that await us. And I think I forget she does all this amazingness for our kids while being a single mother because of her husband's untimely passing. The first [year] my son had her I had no idea what she was dealing with because she didn't let it define her. I wish she could just keep growing with the kids but kindergarten is where her heart is!"

As part of the recognition, Ms. Pierce also got a gift basket from Wilton's OfficeWorks, a cake from Nothing Bundt Cakes, gift cards/certificates from Carter's Burger, Texas Burger and Smoothie King, a Candy 95 T-shirt for Ms. Pierce and Candy 95 stickers for her whole class!
